There are lots of areas around data covering legal, security, environmental and quality issues, which means working with it is never boring.
What difference have you made to your company? I hope I've reaffirmed an understanding of the critical nature of data to the business. It's not just about targeting, but about the issues of data protection and security, as well as cost reduction. What's the biggest data lesson you've learnt? That at the BBC, our reputation is vital. Everyone working here needs to consider this aspect within their own job - for me that's everything to do with data and data protection What's the most exciting aspect of your work? Driving the detector van! On a more serious note, going out with the field sales team or visiting one of the call centres reminds me of both the responsibility, challenge and coverage that working for a brand like TV Licensing provides.
